Harlem-Roscoe stops house fire in basement bedroom

A firefighter investigates a basement fire.

A possible house fire sent Harlem-Roscoe firefighters to Fawn Prairie Drive at 5:18 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, in the Hawks Pointe neighborhood.  After an aggressive attack into the home, the first-in crew found the fire in a basement bedroom. They extinguished it and overhauled the room looking for any more.

Fortunately, only the bedroom and its window were damaged by the fire, with smoke damage throughout. Neighboring fire departments also came to the scene, since a MABAS BOX was pulled. Harlem-Roscoe says, "A big thank you for their assistance." The cause of the fire will be investigated.
