Susan C. Zimmerman, 64, of Roscoe, enjoyed spending time with her family, specifically, as much quality time with her grandchildren as she could. She also enjoyed going to plays with her husband Duane using their season tickets at the Artists’ Ensemble Theater, or traveling to places like Jamaica, Hawaii and Alaska. When she was home, she enjoyed a good book or spending time with her family.

Susan passed away in her home on November 5, 2022.

Sue was born in Rockford, Illinois on October 6, 1958, daughter to Arnold and Eleanor (Loucks) Setter. After graduating from Boylan Catholic High School in 1976, she went to work for Maggio and Fox Law Firm, then worked at Hinshaw and Culbertson LLP as an administrative assistant before retiring in 2021.



Sue married the love of her life, Duane Zimmerman in 1984 in Rockford. She was a 26-year parishioner at Church of the Holy Spirit in Roscoe. She enjoyed spending time with her family, specifically, as much quality time with her grandchildren as she could. She also enjoyed going to plays with Duane using their season tickets at the Artists’ Ensemble Theater, or traveling to places like Jamaica, Hawaii and Alaska. When she was home, she enjoyed a good book or spending time with her family.

She is survived by those who loved her most, her husband of 38 years, Duane; her children Kelly (Matt) Lindstrom, Megan Zimmerman, and Jeff (Jessica) Zimmerman; her grandchildren Dagny, Wesley, Charlotte Lindstrom, Aspen and Eleanor Zimmerman; her brothers Lou (Sue Ellen) Setter, Larry (Carole) Setter and Lee (Andrea) Setter; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents and infant sister, Lois.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108. Funeral Mass will take place the following day, Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Saint Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit, IL 61080. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
