Terri Hausvick was coach, president of the teacher’s union and member of the school board

Terri L. Hausvick, 74, of Roscoe, IL, worked in Roscoe schools for 42 years as a volleyball coach, physical education teacher, and health teacher. She was president of the teacher’s union. When she was elected to the Kinnikinnick school board in April 2013 after her retirement, she told the Beloit Daily News, “I am just very honored they placed their trust in me and I'm going to do everything I can to make kids first and keep the Roscoe schools at the top of the list.” 

Terri passed away Monday, October 24, 2022, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. 

Born December 19, 1947, in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of LaVergne and Dorothy DeForest, Terri married Nick Sedore, on July 17, 2017, in South Beloit, IL. She loved being outdoors and traveling with her husband in their motorhome. 



Survivors include her husband, Nick; son, Pat (Tara) Hausvick; brothers, Michael (Deborah), Kevin (Kathryn), Dennis (Karen), and Shawn (Amy) DeForest. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Denny Hausvick; and brothers, Pat and Brian DeForest.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2022, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the funeral home. The family will hold a private burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg, IL.
