A beautiful day for a Halloween party at Porter Park

Hundreds of families walked down the balloon archway at Porter Park in Roscoe, Saturday, Oct. 22. The free Halloween event featured games, activities, "Touch a Truck," food, and trick or treating opportunities.

Saturday, Oct. 22, was a beautiful autumn afternoon at Porter Park, 6545 Windflower Ln. Hundreds of families came out to celebrate the inaugural Halloween bash, "Truck or Treat," sponsored by The Village of Roscoe.

Admission was free.

A colorful balloon arch, decorated pumpkins, and luminaries welcomed visitors as they walked down the park pathway.



Lots of games, crafts, and activities with a Halloween twist, and of course, trick or treating were available.

“Touch a Truck” invited kids to climb into Harlem-Roscoe fire trucks, Public Works vehicles and police cars. Painting the windows, sides and wheels of a big yellow school bus was also a popular attraction.

Several food trucks offered a variety of lunch items and snacks.

Village of Roscoe employees Ann Hanson and Jonelle Johnston spearheaded the family-friendly event.
