Taking a step back to the 1970s: Synergy Collective

Stephanie Mains is the owner of Synergy Creative, a boho store in Roscoe that cultivates a holistic wellness and lifestyle. The store opened last March. An open house was held at the store on Sept. 3. New classes and workshops begin in October 2022.

Walk through the doors at Synergy Collective, 11361 Main St. in Roscoe, and you'll get a snapshot of the boho culture of the 1970s.

Synergy Collective offers an eclectic array of handmade clothing, macramé, healing crystals, candles, live plants, music bowls, accessories, home décor, creative workshops, and classes including yoga.

It’s a grassroots community comprised of small business collaboratives that cultivate holistic wellness and advocate a sustainable lifestyle.

Owner Stephanie Mains was encouraged to open a brick-and-mortar shop in March 2022, after successfully running a popular pop-up store at Rockford City Market since 2019.

She found an ideal location in Roscoe.

Mains has been employed for a couple of years as a hairstylist by Embellish Beauty Bar, 11359 Main Street. The space next to Embellish became available for rent in 2022. Besides the convenience of being right next to Embellish, the space fit all of her needs.

Embellish Beauty Bar is located right next to Synergy Creative. The owners of the beauty salon, Ali York (L) and Korie Lawson visited the boho shop during the open house in support of the business. Stephanie Mains, owner of Synergy Creative, is also employed at Embellish.

An open house was held on Saturday, Sept 3. “Business has been going very well,” according to Mains. Several workshops and classes are being scheduled for October 2022.

The store is open Tuesday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Synergy Collective is located in the strip mall across from the Roscoe Post Office on Main St. in Roscoe.
