Grant Buchanan: remember happier times

Grant Cole Buchanan, 74,  of Rockton was preceded in death by his parents Adele and Jerry, wife Beverly Judy Buchanan, and step-granddaughter Rikki Friend. He was born on May 16, 1948 in Rockford, IL. 

Grant passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at home in Rockton.

He was wed to Beverly Judy Buchanan from January 20, 1973 until her death on May 25, 1997.  He is survived by children, Dawn (Steve) Seifert, Kathy (Mike) Hawkins, Steve (Malia) Buchanan, Denyce Buchanan Kemp; grandchildren, Tiffany, Amanda, Danyeil, Kristen, Abbey and Hunter; great-grandchildren, Josalyn, Braxton, Coraline, Owen, Carter, Carissa, and Elliot.

He married Gail Baxley on March 4, 2000, and is survived by his step-daughter, Heidi Friend and Penny Koo; granddaughter, Daisy; great-grandchildren, Lila and AJ.

A memorial service for Grant will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Machesney Park, 718 Harlem Road.
