In Roscoe, Tuesday's village board agenda [PDF] includes a request for a Class “F” (Full Liquor - On Premises Consumption) liquor license for Sabor Bar and Grill, 5522 Elevator Road. If the restaurant's name sounds familiar, Sabrosa's long-time chef and his brother have bought the restaurant, renamed it Sabor Bar and Grill, and need a new liquor license since there is new ownership. The Zoning Board of Appeals has already recommended the liquor license be approved. Sabor is a family affair: the owners' father, cousin, and two younger brothers are helping to run it.

The Roscoe trustees will also be asked to approve travel expenses for elected officials and staff attendance at the 2022 Illinois Municipal League Annual Conference, September 15-17. Estimated expenses will be $1,400.00 per attendee. Also, Police Chief Jamie Evans and Deputy Chief Sam Hawley will be attending the Midwest Security and Expo Conference on August 18-19.

This public meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at Roscoe Village Hall, 10631 Main Street in Roscoe, followed by a Committee of the Whole Meeting, where trustees will continue to discuss the creation of remote work procedures for Village employees.

On the agenda for Tuesday night's Village of Rockton trustees meeting [PDF] is the swearing in of a  new police officer, Jordan Carrasquillo.

Rockton trustees will also consider sign variances for the Rockton Granary, 151-179 E. Hawick St, currently owned by Stenstrom LLC. The development between Main Street and Settlers Park includes eight upscale apartments and eight downstairs commercial properties, including The Mix, Country Insurance, After the Vine, Edward Jones, Sanctuary Spa, and Healing Touch.

Trustees will be asked to approve a firing range use agreement with the City of Belvidere as well as special event liquor licenses for Rockton Lions Club's Jack Lovejoy Memorial Golf Play Day and the Rockton Police Association’s Blues & BBQ event. The Parks/Pool and the Public Works departments will be asking for approval of blanket purchase orders.

The public meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Village Municipal Center, 110 E. Main Street in Rockton, IL.
