Drive 815: Sonic 2 and Jungle Cruise - 6:30 p.m.

Rockton Athletic Fields

Rockton's own summertime drive-in theater presents a different movie both nights. Admission: $25 per carload but $20 with an early bird pass (or $15 per show if you go both nights). The movies start at sunset (8:30 p.m.) but games, music, balloon-tying, and food trucks begin at 6:30 p.m. Families can even picnic in their cars. On Friday, in the video-game-inspired movie Sonic 2, a supersonic blue hedgehog who can't swim longs to be a superhero despite his reckless personality. [more details] 

On Saturday, Jungle Cruise stars Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson as a South American riverboat captain who is transporting botanist/ explorer Dr. Lily Houghton (think Indiana Jones as Emily Blunt) in search of ancient treasure. [more details]

Historic Auto Attractions - Friday and Saturday

Much more than an auto museum, Roscoe's hidden gem is twice as big as last year. See artifacts from the World War II era, ancient Egypt, and Bible times. And memorabilia  owned by (to name just a few) John F. Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, James Dean, Buddy Holly, Conway Twitty, King George V, and Annie Oakley. Plus lots and lots of animals and cars.
