6:00 to 8:00 p.m., on Main Street between Bridge Street and River Street, in downtown Roscoe.

Cost: Free.

Hosted by the Roscoe Police and Harlem-Roscoe Fire, activities at this free community block party for the whole family include games, entertainment, food, prizes, vendors, music, and a car show.

As a bonus, kids will have the opportunity to rub elbows with their favorite law enforcement heroes during this evening of family entertainment and good will.

National Night Out, always held the first Tuesday in August, has been a summer tradition for 40 years in large and small communities across the nation.

The annual block party was born as a way to get to know and forge positive relationships between law enforcement and people living in the communities.
