Easter (Pascha, Pascua, Wielkanoc, Velykden, or Resurrection Sunday) commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. It is the culmination of Holy Week and is preceded by Palm Sunday, Holy Monday, Fig Tuesday, Spy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday (not all of which are commonly observed). Churches celebrate with sunrise services, midnight vigils, and Easter lilies. It's also a traditional time for Easter parades, Easter baskets, Easter bonnets, the Easter Bunny and egg hunting.
