John Rullo (1955-2021) loved to make his grandma's famous Sicilian pasta sauce

John Rullo, 65, of Rockton, IL went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at home with his family. He was born in Elmira, NY on December 21, 1955 to Josephine Thompson. He grew up in Rockford, IL and attended Boylan High School. He worked for over 25 years at Taylor Freezer. He spent his sunset years in Florida, once retired.

John loved God and his family. He always opened his door to anyone in need and always made you feel welcome. He had a big heart and gave generously. He was always the life of the party. He was a great cook and loved to recreate his grandma's famous Sicilian pasta sauce. He was a Bears fan and he enjoyed fishing and roller skating.

He is survived by his son, Nickolas (Kari) Rullo; daughter, Stephanie (Jonathan) Prock; grandchildren, Anthony Messer, Benjamin and Julia Prock; great grandson, Kayson Musick; sister, Barbara (Chuck) Cassaro; two loving aunts; many cousins, nieces, nephews and great friends; Predeceased by his mother; grandmother, Grace Pagano; brothers, Arthur “Tom” Thompson Jr., Chuck Thompson; sister, Janet Thompson.

A celebration of life will be held from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Loves Park VFW, 2018 Windsor Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111.
