Downtown Rockton Gets Swifty

Downtown Rockton celebrated Small Business Saturday, November 25, 2023 by handing out beads and charms for shoppers to collect. Some shops also had extra beads and space for shoppers to sit down and finish creating their friendship bracelet.

Friendship bracelets have become wildly popular among Taylor Swift fans ("Swifties") during her Eras tour because of the lyrics "So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it" in Swift's 2022 song "You're On Your Own, Kid."

Shoppers began at DeeDee's Main Street Coffee and continued to the other participating locations to pick up unique beads and charms, including Talcott Library, JR Finally Art, Inkwell Books & Threads, DeeDee's, Truly Treasured, Buckets n Blooms, and After the Vine.
