Free rides to Rockton blood drive and a chance to win $500

The Rockton Community Blood Drive will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 3, 2023, from 1 - 6 p.m. in the banquet hall at the American Center (American Legion), 221 W Main Street, Rockton, IL 61072.

All donors will be entered into a monthly drawing for a $500 gift card. Rick Popp, Donor Recruiter for Rock River Valley Blood Bank, says, "We are also giving away a golf pass for two rounds at any County golf course. And all donors will receive a pint of custard from Culver’s through their 'give a pint, get a pint' program." Donors can take the coupon to Culver's to get the frozen treat.

To make sure everybody can get to the blood drive, Stateline Mass Transit District is partnering with Rock River Valley Blood Bank, offering free rides to the event for any blood donor within the SMTD service area. To schedule your free ride with SMTD, call 877-561-3330.

She says, "This summer we partnered with the Rockton Lions Club for their blood drive, and it was a huge success! We helped with calling and setting up appointments, posting on social media and putting up posters around town! We wanted to continue to help others and we have a great space for a blood drive! We are proud to partner with organizations like RRVBC to help support our community and others. Blood drives are very important to the community, and we enjoy giving back.
