JoAnne Roth was an addictions counselor, foodie, and shopper

JoAnne Roth (1945-2023)

JoAnne Roth, 77, of Rockton, passed away on August 8, 2023, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 8, 1945, in Imboden, AR; the daughter of Marshall and Fannie (Henderson) McCarroll. She graduated from Harlem High School in 1963. JoAnne married Robert Roth on May 19, 2000, at the Shepherd of the Bay Church in Door County, WI. 

JoAnne worked as a hairdresser right out of high school and then in the 80’s she became an addictions counselor for several area firms. She was a friend of Bill W. for 43 years. JoAnne and Rob would spend the week after Labor Day up in Door County, WI every year where they spent their time gathering art and pottery to add to JoAnne’s collections. They also were snowbirds down in Sun City West, AZ. JoAnne dabbled in genealogy, considered herself a foodie, and she enjoyed shopping. Her favorite pastime was following what was going on in her grandchildren’s lives and spending time with them.

JoAnne is survived by her loving husband Rob; children Katie (Steve) Switzer, Jason (Raena) Roth, and Mitchell (Tanya) Roth; grandchildren Kelly, Peter, Madeline (Brian), Gabrielle, Brandon, and Sandy; brother Randy (Teresa) McCarroll; nephews Jon and Cody McCarroll; and uncle Carrington (Liz) Henderson. She is predeceased by her parents.
