Roy Olson was a regular at the Rockton American Legion

Roy Olson of Rockton worked as a diesel mechanic in the Rockford and Belvidere, IL area for numerous years, retiring in 2018. Roy enjoyed spending time and helping at the Rockton American Legion.

Roy passed away at 9:05 a.m. on July 20, 2023 at his home in Rockton after a lengthy illness. 

He was born September 24, 1961 in Rockford, IL, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford and Mary (Aasen) Olson. He graduated from Harlem High School in 1979. Roy married Cynthia A. Liebl on November 10, 1996 in Rockford, IL.

Survivors include wife: Cindy; loving dogs Alley and Peanut; father Clifford Olson; brother Randy Olson, sister Robin Olson; numerous nieces and nephews. Roy is predeceased by his mother, Mary Olson.

Per Roy's request, cremation rites will be accorded, with a Celebration of Life to be held Friday August 4, 2023 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Rockton American Legion Post #332, 221 W. Main Street in Rockton.
