Sue Reeder (1951-2022)

Susanne "Sue" Reader (Dobratz), 71, of Rockton, Illinois was born on December 17, 1951 to Eugene and Patricia Dobratz (Peck) in Rockford.

Sue was known to be the life of the party. If you knew Sue, you didn't know a single person like her. Sue was well known for saying exactly what was on her mind without a worry of what others might think. Sue had the ability to connect with anyone that crossed her path. She had many meaningful friendships over the years. She had a love for hummingbirds and a special place in her heart for her kitty cats.

During the warmer months, Sue could either be found camping or riding on her electric bicycle, gifted to her by her former husband and best friend, Walter Reader, Jr.

Sue and her sister Debbie spent a lot of time crafting together and selling their creations at craft events. Sue enjoyed embroidering aprons and towels to gift to her loved ones.

One of Sue's favorite pastimes was gathering with her friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to be at events that brought her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren together.

Sue was predeceased by her mother Patricia Dobratz (Peck), father Eugene Dobratz, brother James Dobratz, and her aunt Donnie Dobratz, her mother's sister who married her father's brother.

Sue's legacy will be carried on by her survivors: daughter, PattyAnn "Renee" (John) McKnight, son, Walter (Amber) Reader III, grandchildren, Erin (Nathan) Almberg, Payton (Daniel) Britton, Kailey (Brandon) McKnight, Angel (Zach) Wolfe, & Brandon Reader, great-grandchildren, Hayden Nolan, Mason Almberg, Lyla & Hudson Britton, Ryder & Sutton Broege, Hazelyn Pasek, and Theo Alexander, brothers Roger (Roegina), Thomas, and Timothy (Diane) Dobratz and sister Debra "Debbie" (Dietmar) Kowitzke (Dobratz), and several special nieces and nephews.

In honor of Sue's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when the entire immediate family can be together.
