Tonya Morgan recently opened Truly Treasured Gift N Thrift at 112 W. Main St, in Rockton. She also owns a Truly Treasured Gift N Thrift shop in Loves Park.

Tonya Morgan has an entrepreneurial soul. After many years working in the healthcare field and raising three children, she went with her heart last October and opened Truly Treasured Gift N Thrift, a gift and consignment shop. “I enjoyed working in the healthcare
field, but I wanted to try something new and different.”

Morgan is very familiar with Rockton. She now lives in Loves Park but grew up in Rockton, attending Rockton Grade School, Stephen Mack Middle School, and Hononegah High School.

The first Truly Treasured Gift N Thrift opened in mid- October at 6239 North Second St. in Loves Park. The store proved to be quite successful. In November, she opened a second shop at 112 W. Main St, in Rockton.

“I have always been a thrifter,” she said. “I enjoy vintage pieces, painting and repurposing. I like to mix old with new.”

Morgan sells gently-used, clean clothing, vintage and handmade gifts and will take on-the-spot consignments.

She said she would like to expand into selling refurbished furniture. “I love to paint and repurpose. I would like to include selling refurbished furniture at the stores in the future.”

Right now both locations are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

The Rockton shop is open 10 – 6 pm Wednesday through Saturday, and 10 – 5 pm on Sunday.

The Loves Park store is open 12 – 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 – 6 p.m. on Thursday. On weekends, the hours are 10 – 5 p.m. on Saturday and 12 – 5 p.m. on Sunday.
