Harriett Geiseman was a hard working, loving and caring individual

Harriett D. (Janssen) Geiseman, 88, of Rockton, IL will be remembered by her children as a "hard working, loving and caring individual." She worked as a cleaning lady in the same building for years, first for Manley Sand Company, which was purchased by Martin Marrietta Corp and then by the Village of Rockton. Her last job before retirement was at Regal Beloit Corp., which she fully enjoyed. She always talked about how well everyone treated her there.

She died at 11:35 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. 

Harriett was born February 11, 1934 in Rock Falls, IL, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harm and Henrietta (Daniels) Janssen of Germany. Soon after Harriett graduated from Coloma High School in Rock Falls, IL, she married William Geiseman on June 21, 1952 in Rock Falls Lutheran Church.



 A charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, she volunteered in the church kitchen with weddings and funeral luncheons. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. During the last few years of her life, Harriett attended Memorial Baptist Church in Rockford.

Her family says that she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren from the time of birth through their high school years and beyond.

They wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Barb, Amber and Judy for all their tender loving care given to their mom.



Survivors include son Paul (Delores) Geiseman, Darrel (Cheri) Geiseman; grandchildren Melody Geiseman, Michael (Melissa) Geiseman, Matthew (Amanda) Geiseman, Zachary (Taya) Geiseman, William (Alanna) Geiseman, Danielle (Jake) Wilson; great grandchildren Haileigh, Dominyck, Elijah, Veda, Mazie, Dane, Garrett, Dex, Ella and Helío who is like a great grandson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband and her three sisters.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in McCorkle Funeral Home- Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with her grandson, Pastor Will Geiseman, officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Township Cemetery. A visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Memorial Baptist Church.
