Friday is opening night at the Hononegah Performing Arts Center for the school's fall play, Harvey, a Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy by Mary Chase. It's the story of a perfect gentleman, Elwood P. Dowd (memorably played on film by James Stewart in an Oscar-nominated role), and his best friend, Harvey - who appears to be a tall (6' 1-1/2") white rabbit whom nobody else can see. Or can they? Well, surely no sensible person can. But given the choice, is it really better to be sensible or to be honest, to be smart or pleasant? Hmm.
