On Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputies receive a report at 10:08 p.m. that a car was in the ditch in the 11400 block of N. Rockton Avenue, which is north of Moffatt Road and south of the Rockton Rock Quarry in Rockton Township. Within a minute, Rockton Fire Protection District personnel and paramedics were also on their way.
First responders found a 57-year-old unresponsive male in the driver’s seat of the white 2001 Buick Century. The car was lying on its passenger side, in a shallow ditch.

Rockton Fire personnel had to remove the roof to get the driver out. Paramedics took him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to WIFR, the county coroner's office has identified the victim as Kevin Ksiazek, 57, of Rockford. They performed the required autopsy on Thursday. The accident is under investigation by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
