Everybody loves Pickles

In Pickles the Clown's new venture - minus the costume – she weaves sparkly strands into hair.

Everybody loves Pickles
As Pickles the Clown, Mary Kraynik specializes in face-painting and balloon animals. But as Mary Kraynik, she also weaves sparkly "fairy hair."

Pickles revealed!

Pickles the Clown and Company has been entertaining children of all ages for over 20 years. During those years, she entertained both kids and adults at birthday parties, company picnics, special events, school functions and a regular part of Stateline Chambers Business Expo (Ro-Ro).

Mary Kraynik of Roscoe is the brightly colored clown behind the make-up.  Her distinctive purple hair and red polka dot dress are her trademark. She specializes in face-painting, making balloon animals, and hugs.

“Pickles has slowed down,” Kraynik said in 2022.  “COVID came along. It cut my business in half.  It has been difficult to interact.  Kids always want to hug Pickles.”

Kraynik, as Pickles, is still entertaining, but because of COVID she added something new: 'Put’n on the Glitz.' The new entertainment venture - minus the costume – involves weaving sparkly strands of artificial hair into natural hair, creating 'Fairy Hair.' Kraynik says, “It lasts three to four months and can be washed, curled and styled... It’s fun for kids parties and ladies nights out.”

In her spare time, Kraynik is involved with volunteering and giving back to the community.

Her philosophy: “A smile makes the day a whole lot brighter….Share one of yours.”

Pickles the Clown, shown here with Martha Talley and sporting purple hair and a colorful costume, has been entertaining children and adults in the community for over two decades. Pickles, otherwise known as Mary Kraynik, continues to be a staple in area entertainment, but has started a new venture: Put'n on the Glitz.

Mary Kraynik is the person behind Pickles the Clown, a familiar face in the Rockton-Roscoe area.  She is adding "Put'n on the Glitz" to her entertainment venue.
