Roscoe Memorial Day Parade

Parade starts at Village Hall on Main Street, heads north on Main to Harrison Street, and turns east on Harrison into Roscoe Township Cemetery.
At the cemetery, the VFW will hold a Memorial Ceremony honoring Roscoe’s fallen heroes. For those not attending the ceremony, you may continue to 6th Street and disperse at Broad Street.
Please note the following road closures beginning at 9:00 AM:
Main Street (Bridge St to Harrison St)
Harrison Street (Main St to 6th St)
Roads will reopen following the parade.
Parade participants will line up on Presley Place between Main Street & Pearl Street and Main Street & Franklin Street. Traffic in these areas may be impacted, so please plan accordingly.
Bring your flags, your gratitude, and your community spirit as we honor those who gave everything for our freedom.
Among other groups, the Memorial Day Parade will feature the Roscoe VFW, the Roscoe Middle School Band, Harlem-Roscoe Fire Department, Roscoe Village Trustees, Boy Scout Troop 6202, Mariners Girl Scouts Ship 3361, Illinois National Guard, and the Army Reserve, and many local businesses.
The parade route will be from Bridge and Main to Broad Street and up to Roscoe Cemetery, 5550 Harrison Street, where the VFW will hold a memorial ceremony honoring Roscoe's fallen heroes. Everyone is invited. No throwing candy from floats, only from those walking on the side of road close to parade watchers.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars is a non-profit, non-political organization that advocates for veterans and their families. We ask that anybody or business marching in the parade display a patriotic theme and refrain from any political messaging.
