Movie: Dear Evan Hansen

NAMI Northern Illinois will be hosting a screening of Dear Evan Hansen beginning at 3PM at the RPL Nordlof Theater. At the end of the screening, a panel discussion with local mental health providers to unpack the movie and provide support.

Evan Hansen is an anxious, isolated high-school student who's aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social media age. He soon embarks on a journey of self-discovery when a letter he wrote for a writing exercise falls into the hands of a grieving couple whose son took his own life.

Rated PG-13 for suicide, mental illness, bullying

The first 50 people receive a free, Dear Evan Hansen-themed T-shirt! All guests will receive free entry, popcorn, beverages, and discount coupons from our friends at supporting restaurants near downtown for dinner following the event.
