Business volunteers from elev815 delivered eight gift baskets to fire and police for South Beloit, Rockton, and Roscoe.

A few years ago, Friday, Oct. 28, was designated First Responders Day, a day to thank police, EMTs and fire fighters for their service to their communities.

This year, a group of elev815 volunteers delivered baskets full of candy and snacks, and, of course lots of coffee, to fire and police departments in the Stateline area.

The group visited police departments in South Beloit, Rockton, and Roscoe, and fire departments in Rockton, South Beloit, and the three Harlem-Roscoe fire stations (Willow Brook Road, Ralston Road in Machesney Park, and Main Street in Roscoe.)

The first responders were surprised and grateful for the support from elev815 and the Stateline communities.

elev815 is an area organization of business volunteers who work together to support small business, promote community events, and help local students with their education goals by offering scholarships.

elev815 members Toni Brown, Chuck Gilbert, Clyde Grooms, Dana Grooms, Bob Nowicki, Jim Blevins, Marge Bauch, Michael McGinnis, Wanda Alberts, and Jean Seegers made the special deliveries.

Harlem Roscoe Fire Dept. Chief Don Shoevlin holds a gift basket from elev815. October was officially First Responders Day. The baskets were filled with snacks and lots of coffee products.
