Doris “Puddie” Billups, of Rockton, IL, loved riding her Harley motorcycle with her husband Steve. She was a lifetime member of Ladies of Harley.

Doris was born in Salt Lake City, UT, on October 14, 1947, the daughter of Benjamin and Helen (Cragg) McPheron. She grew up and attended schools in West Frankfort, IL. She worked in the electronics field throughout her life.

Doris passed away on July 25, 2023 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL at the age of 75.

She married the love of her life, Steve Billups, on November 2, 1991 in McHenry, IL. Together they enjoyed countless days riding on their Harleys and traveling; including trips to Las Vegas and family cruises.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; son, James Moore; daughter, Lisa Johnson; granddaughters, Nicole, Samantha and Jennifer; grandsons, James J., James O., Tauren; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, Ella, Benjah and James along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenny; sister, Audrey; son, William; and grandson, Jonathan.

Doris loved nothing more than spending time in her dream house with her family especially on Christmas and the 4th of July. She loved cooking homemade meals, going resale shopping and of course, watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.

Doris will forever be remembered by her beauty, style, intelligence, fearlessness, encouragement, life lessons and of course her famous line everyone knows...."Who do you think you're talking to?" She was not afraid to speak her mind.

She was the best wife, mother, friend, sister and “mimi” there ever was.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd., Rockton, IL with Pastor Terry Morehouse officiating. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time of ceremony.
