With a little help from their parents, children spent Saturday, December 7, 2024 decorating cookies at the VFW Post 2955, 11385 2nd Street, Roscoe.

This was the first year for the event. Judging from the families attending, it will be repeated again next year. Of course, the icing and the cookies needed to be sampled. No one had a problem doing that.

According to Gene Mund, VFW board member and Vice Commander, he and several fellow members baked 700 cookies on Friday night. Santa came by later in the afternoon. He talked with the children about their Christmas wishes and sampled a few cookies.
