With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Roscoe, Rockton, and South Beloit in recent weeks:

Sept. 15, 2024:
Don McCauley, 72, Rockton
He owned a Cessna 150F airplane and rode a motorcycle but he was most beloved as a school bus driver.

Sept. 16, 2024:
Jill Harris, 59, Rockton

Sept. 18, 2024:
Everlena Brown, 76, South Beloit
Her funeral service will be Oct. 5 at Christ Temple Church of The Apostolic Faith in Joliet, Illinois.

Sept. 19, 2024:
Richard Jenkins, 55, Roscoe
Owner of Rick Jenkins Construction, he enjoyed fishing on the Rock River, golfing, boating, snowmobiling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Marcia Lee Laliberte, 85, Roscoe
Lee lived off Bluestem in Roscoe. She married Eddie Laliberte in 1957 and was the mother of Shelley, John, Mark, and Ricky.

Sept. 21, 2024:
Clayton Metras, 87, Rockton

Sept. 22, 2024:
Marty Kalata, 63, South Beloit

Sept. 23, 2024:
Edwin J. Harper Jr., 73, South Beloit
A tinkerer and restorer, his vast music collection spanned the 1930’s to the 1970’s.

Matthew Hoffman, 49, South Beloit
A gentle leader, he coached his children’s sports teams, toured stadiums across the country, and played pick-up basketball.

Sept. 27, 2024:
Loretta Morelock, 85, Rockton
Retired from the US Postal Service, she loved spending time with family, traveling, baking, fishing, and a good game of cards.
