With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit in recent weeks:

May 29, 2025:
Genevieve L. Giles, 97, Beloit
She spent many years cleaning her church and helping them make peanut brittle, for which her son's church, New Life Tabernacle Church in Roscoe, is also well known.

May 31, 2025:
Ruthann Tonak, 74, Roscoe
Because of her love for children, she became a day care manager and a paraprofessional assisting children with special needs.

June 1, 2025:
Carolyn J. Perez, 82, Roscoe
She grew up on the family farm and had a career in floral arrangements, including 21 years with B. Sandfield in Rockford.

June 2, 2025:
Catherine A. Evans, 76, Rockton
She found joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She brought beauty into her home through her love for arts and crafts, cooking, and interior decoration.
