With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit in recent weeks:
June 2, 2025:
Jennifer L. Sadewater, 59, Beloit
A 1983 Hononegah graduate, she became a cosmetologist, teacher, home health aide, painter, and animal lover.

June 7, 2025:
Joseph V. Nemetz, 84, Roscoe
After working for many years in mitigation and rehabbing, he became a realtor dedicated to "an area of Northern Illinois that I can personally oversee."

James H. Watterson, 79, Roscoe
He lived on North Creek Road in Roscoe. Funeral arrangements were made through Affordable Cremations of Belvidere.
June 12, 2025:
Tresea A. Larson, 63, Roscoe
She spent nearly 45 years as a nurse, at the Cancer Center in Rockford and the Rockford VA Clinic. She and her husband worked 10 years as volunteers at the headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

June 13, 2025:
Etta Jane Witten, 85, Rockton
Born in Sioux City, IA, she spent time raising three sons, singing with the Sweet Adelines, spending time with her family, gardening, reading, bird watching, and arranging flowers.

June 14, 2025:
Loren Floto, 82, Rockton
He taught Spanish at Hononegah and served on the Talcott Library board. A dedicated volunteer, in his younger years, he was a Peace Corps volunteer in Latin America.

Ruth A. Atwood, 86, South Beloit
She had a decades-long nursing career and sang every Sunday morning, played many instruments, and helped build the Family Life Center at Central Christian Church. For many years, she was the piano accompanist for the Goldenaires Chorus.

John A. Amundrud, 57, South Beloit
He had a passion for motorcycles, cars, fishing, camping, and building and fixing things. But his greatest passions were for helping people and making others happy. When he said goodbye, he always said, “I love you, be safe.”

June 16, 2025:
Mike Parrott, 92, Roscoe
Born in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, a man of gentle ways and unspoken words, he served in the Korean Conflict and was employed for 38 years by the Rockford Register Star/Gannett as a plate maker and color engraver.

June 17, 2025:
Ann L. Hegge, 87, Rockton
She taught both 8th grade history and 9th grade world civilization. She was active in the Rock River Thresheree Association.
