With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Roscoe, South Beloit, and Rockton in recent weeks:

Feb. 21, 2025:
Robert Hinrichs, 87, Roscoe
He was a farmer most of his life. He later worked at Fox Valley Systems and the Village of Roscoe.

Dennis W. Taylor, 87, Roscoe
A hardworking and resilient man, he spent his entire career at Ro-Pal Machine. He found joy fishing on a quiet morning, camping with family, and playing a game of darts. He never let a loved one leave without his signature words: “Thanks, be careful.”

Dick Pearce, 74, Roscoe
He retired from Chrysler in 1998 after 30 years. He was a White Sox season ticket holder. He enjoyed cooking Italian beef and meatballs as well as sharing bananas and peaches with his grandson.

Feb. 26, 2025:
Thomas Lowery, 75, Roscoe
He joined the Marines during the Vietnam War and retired 28 years later as Master Sergeant. He worked 14 years at the Post Office, then 9 years as a bus driver. He loved fishing, bowled two perfect 300 games, and enjoyed 13 cruises to the Caribbean.

Feb. 27, 2025:
Steven Magdziarz, 54, Roscoe
From an early age, he embraced life with energy and curiosity, with football games, the Phantom Regiment drum corps, and a knack for taking gadgets apart -though not always putting them back together.

Mar. 2, 2025:
Kennie Sather, 71, South Beloit
He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, jigsaw puzzles, spending time with family, and showing off his rock collection.
