With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Roscoe, South Beloit, and Rockton in recent weeks:

Feb. 16, 2025:
Ron Larson, 64, Roscoe
One of his proudest accomplishments was helping to battle the Wagon Wheel fire. He loved cars and trucks, especially his 1971 Malibu. He played football at Hononegah.

Feb. 17, 2025:
Larry Fay, 94, Rockton
A Korean War veteran, he helped raise money for the Tri-County Korean War Memorial in Loves Park. He worked at People's Light, Gas and Coke Company for 39 years.

Kim Phetteplace, 60, South Beloit
She never forgot a birthday. She worked as a paraprofessional at North Boone, Hononegah, and Beloit School Districts. She also worked at Zoo Gardens, Town Club and Dominick’s.

Bob Tatman, 77, South Beloit
One of the highlights of his life was the exhilarating experience of racing a Ferrari around a track. He was a devoted Christian, a lover of Israel, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

Feb. 20, 2025:
Don Rogers, 79, Roscoe,
He was self-employed for 43 years, a former owner of the House of Bottles. He enjoyed his family, his German Shepherds and his wooded property.

Feb. 21, 2025:
Georgialee Colby, 92, Rockton
She taught school in Shirland. Her funeral service is Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Rockton United Methodist Church.
