With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Roscoe, South Beloit, and Rockton last week:
Apr. 29, 2025:
Janet M. Leindecker, 61, South Beloit
Born in 1964, she was the daughter of William G. and Evelyn L. (Rhoad) Leindecker. She also lived in Roscoe.

William L. Edwards, 72, South Beloit
He grew up working very hard on a dairy farm. He figured out how to fix farm equipment, even though he had never been trained to do that. He spent 30 years as a welder at Taylor Freezer, even though he had never been trained to do that either.

Betty May Homer, 101, South Beloit
She attended a one room school through the 8th grade, worked as a secretary after World War II, and helped found a Boy Scout troop. An active member of the Rockton United Methodist Church, she traveled throughout the U.S. and Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Israel, Europe, the British Isles and Asia. She loved antiquing and playing bridge.
