With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Roscoe, South Beloit, and Rockton in recent weeks:

Apr. 15, 2025:
Kelly M. Farnsworth, 41, South Beloit
She worked as a front desk agent at Geronimo Hospitality Group. She and her husband were married in October 2024. Her death came one year minus one day after they became engaged.

Apr. 18, 2025:
Mary Moe Mumma, 78, Rockton
She had an outgoing, colorful, and gregarious personality and her positive energy filled every room. Moe lived her life to its fullest, enjoying each moment.

Sharon J. Rupert, 69, South Beloit
She played in the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as a young person. A member of Journey Church Ministries, she loved to read, scrapbook, write poems and coach bowling.

Kathie S. Gummow, 81, Rockton
She served with the Illinois Secretary of State, as Rockton Township Supervisor from 2005 to 2009, and with the Rockton Women’s Club, Rockford Rotary Club, and League of Women Voters. She sang in the Old Stone Church choir.

Laura Lendzion, 40, Roscoe
Her private, family graveside service will be held in Arlington Heights, IL, where she was born.

Micki L. Penington, 81, Roscoe 
She worked for Rockford Powertrain for more than 30 years. She loved Elvis Presley, snow globes, computer games and gardening.

James W. Krass, 82, Rockton
After a 36 year aviation career, he and his wife experienced five of seven continents and countless cruise buffets. But for the past 17 years, he watched the corn grow and fed the birds in Rockton, Illinois.

Apr. 26, 2025:
Robert R. Hayenga Jr., 74, Rockton
He was a star athlete on Hononegah's basketball, golf, and football teams, as well as a member of the chess club. As a very young boy in Argyle, he raised homing pigeons.
