With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Roscoe, South Beloit, and Rockton in recent weeks:
Mar. 23, 2025:
Clare M. Hughes, 93, Roscoe
She was a founding member of The Church of the Holy Spirit in Roscoe, where she hosted the initial Mass celebrations in her home. She enjoyed knitting blankets, hats, mittens, and scarves, especially in Chicago Bear colors, which became known as “Clare Wear”.

Apr. 3, 2025:
Eldon E. Aase, 83, Roscoe
After serving in Germany with the United States Air Force, he worked as a lab technician in Freeport and Rockford. He enjoyed puzzles and crossword puzzles and collected eggs and dachshund plates.

Apr. 7, 2025:
Maxine E. Lenker, 78, South Beloit
She began her career in the family’s business, which became K & M Tooling, then worked for FedEx, American Airlines, Ryan International, Aqua-Aerobics Systems Inc. and finally the Rockford VA Clinic. A lifetime member of St. Rita Catholic Church, she also attended St. Peter Catholic Church.
