With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit in recent weeks:

Oct. 30, 2025:
Carl J. Briscoe, 99, South Beloit
In 1943, he went from South Beloit High School into the Navy. He served on the South Beloit school board and became South Beloit mayor. He was supervisor of production and inventory control at Fairbanks Morse for 41 years. He was a member of the South Beloit American Legion for 79 years and served as its commander.

Oct. 31, 2025:
Donald E. Roloff, 72, Roscoe
Beginning as a radio DJ and sportscaster, he moved up the ranks of Warner Lambert and Pfizer. He steered his trawler 6,000 miles through the Mississippi and other rivers, the Great Lakes, and the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic. Always active, he exercised three times a week or more throughout his life.

Her memory will live on in the art she created, the photographs she took, the poetry she wrote, and the love that she shared.

Nov. 2, 2025:
Laura M. Flemming, 97, Rockton
She was active in several churches, including 40 years at Hope Church in Roscoe. An excellent seamstress, she enjoyed reupholstering furniture and making rag rugs for herself and family. She loved the outdoors, especially weeding her flower beds and golfing at the Red Barn Golf Course.

Nov. 3, 2025:
Gregory L. Franchini, 78, Roscoe
He worked for Pierce Box & Paper for 28 years before buying the company. He retired 16 years later. He could call the games better than the broadcasters. He enjoyed reading, music, traveling, cards, dinners out & a great necktie. His intellect, humor, & generosity was extraordinary.

Nov. 5, 2025:
Kay Tiritilli, 81, South Beloit
A 1962 graduate of South Beloit High School, she was co-owner of RT Blackhawk Machine Products for 43 years. She was a life long member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Elizabeth Circle. She had a passion for horses.
