Dec. 19, 2025:
Carol Ellis, 90, Rockton
She grew up on the family farm in Rockton, graduated from Hononegah in 1953, and raised her children in Roscoe.
Dec. 22, 2025:
Warren L. Hickman, 78, Rockton
He lived on Prairie Street.
Dec. 24, 2025:
Virginia L Rothas, 86, Rockton
She lived on Watts Avenue.
Dec. 25, 2025:
Jan Burg, 91, Roscoe
She lived on Charnwood Drive.
Dec. 26, 2025:
Don L. Olsen, 65, Roscoe
He worked for the same company from age 18 until retiring over 40 years later. In between, he earned a college degree with honors and became a loving husband, caring father, proud grandfather, and devoted friend. He always quoted Forrest Gump.
Harvey W. Gahl, 90, South Beloit
After 36 years at Barber-Coleman, he and his wife ran Gahl’s Apple Orchard for 37 years. Then they dedicated countless hours to restoring his 1953 Chevrolet 3100 pick-up truck.
Dec. 28, 2025:
Leon A. Crosby, 81, Roscoe
A long time Chrysler employee, he enjoyed golfing, playing cards, shooting pool, and spending time with his family and his dogs.
Dec. 29, 2025:
C. Nicholas Thomas, 29, Roscoe
His charismatic smile and charm could melt the coldest hearts. Kindhearted, witty, and respectful, he found peace near the water. He enjoyed reading, listening to music, singing, games, but coin collecting most of all.
Dec. 30, 2025:
Robert J. Korte, 90, South Beloit
With the US Army, he patrolled South Korea's border. He enjoyed traveling, square dancing, coaching, woodworking, and cheering for the Chicago Bears. He adorned his home with American flags and eagles.
Dec. 31, 2025:
Rebecca Durick, 48, Roscoe
A 1996 graduate of Hononegah High School, she worked as a guardian representative with the Office of State Guardian.
