We remember those who are no longer with us in Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit.
With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit in recent weeks:
Jan. 20, 2026:
Jane M. McNames, 80, Rockton
She worked at Goldie Floberg Center for years. She enjoyed soaking up the sun, searching for bargains with her sisters-in-law, canning and freezing her garden vegetables, and winning at Scrabble. She was the "fun" grandma, always there with snacks, games and comforting hugs. Her husband's family is from Shirland.

Jan. 24, 2026:
Tyler T. Trosper, 43, Roscoe
He graduated from Hononegah High School in 2000 and worked as a service employee at Schnucks for 25 years. He was a loyal fan of NASCAR, the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and St. Louis Blues. A kind heart and gentle spirit, becoming an uncle was one of his greatest joys.

Feb. 2, 2026:
Crystal L. Schermerhorn, 47, Roscoe
She graduated from South Beloit High School in 1996 and went on to Rockford Career College for massage therapy. She worked at Chrysler but was a massage therapist for the last 15 years. Crystal had lived in Alaska, Illinois, Oklahoma, Florida, Nevada, and Wisconsin. Crystal’s favorite place was the beach.

Cameron C. Guzzardo, 27, Roscoe
He earned his masters in health administration last year in Texas and was seeking a job in the Roscoe area.

Feb. 7, 2026:
Pamela S. Colwell, 62, Roscoe
She was incredibly proud of each child and grandchild, with love that was unconditional, steady and strong. Pam also had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs.

Kristine L. Hudson, 69, Roscoe
She graduated from cosmetology school but a love for cooking led her to become a dietary manager in Missouri. She cherished time making crafts with friends and tending to her garden beds. Her love for the Chicago Bears never wavered.

Feb. 11, 2026:
James F. Yowler, 59, Rockton
He worked for a time at Rosecrance, helping others battle addiction, and cared for his niece and nephew. He had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs. He also enjoyed sports cars, fine arts, and constructing intricate miniature models.

Feb. 13, 2026:
Jill R. McBain, 68, Roscoe
Quiet and mild-mannered, she loved to read thrillers and mysteries. Friends and family members anticipated her annual Halloween party. She loved her sons and grandchildren deeply.

Feb. 14, 2026:
Sharon L. McCoy, 73, Roscoe,
Born in Savanna, IL, she loved thrift store shopping and finding good deals. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Feb. 15, 2026:
Phil E. Abel, 78, Roscoe
Ordained as a Catholic deacon 25 years ago, he led St. Bridget’s food pantry ministry for many years, even after his health kept him from being there in person. He was honored to baptize many of his grandchildren. He spent most of his career at Ingersol and also served as a Reserve Sheriff’s Officer.

Feb. 17, 2026:
Lavern McCallips, 78, Roscoe
From Durand and the mother of five children, she drove a school bus for special needs children in Roscoe.
