With sadness, we announce the following deaths for Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit in recent weeks:
August 8, 2025:
Marvin J. Ostenson, 98, South Beloit
He left school after fourth grade to help on the family farm. He enlisted in the US Army and ended his World War II service while stationed in Germany. A man of deep faith, he spent most of his career with Beloit Corporation.

Pamela J. Wonzer, 71, Roscoe
The child of George and Carmen Persinger Wonzer, she lived at the family home on Balsa Lane.
August 9, 2025:
Thomas Pasiecznik, 87, Roscoe
An accountant born in Winnipeg, Canada, he became Chief Financial Officer of his company. He also enjoyed painting.

August 12, 2025:
Barbara J. Hurn, 93, Shirland
Known as “Babs,” she was the creator and caretaker of Stumpy, Shirland's beloved landmark, which is taller than she was.

Dianne L. Wilke, 67, Roscoe
She met the love of her life at a singles dance at The Hoffman House. She devoted 34 years as an assembler at Barber Colman. She found joy in cooking and baking with love, decorating her home with care, and exploring new places alongside her husband.

August 13, 2025:
David Bruschi, 71, Roscoe
He served for over 40 years as the deputy chief of the South Beloit Fire Department. He was a longtime member of the South Beloit Businessman’s Hall.

August 14, 2025:
David Wright, Rockton
Funny yet hardworking, he was an airplane overhaul and repair tech.
