Corey "Overtime" Anderson looks to capture the MMA Light Heavyweight title tonight at the Wintrust Arena

Corey “Overtime” Anderson, a former Hononegah wrestler, stands 6-3 and weighs 204 lbs. On Friday, Nov, 18, 2022, at Bellator 288 he fights Vadim Nemkov for the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix Title. It’s a rematch from earlier this year when the fight ended in controversy when an accidental headbutt caused the end of the fight early. Anderson and most observers felt he was ahead in the fight and would have become the champ then. Since the earlier fight, “Overtime” Anderson has spoken about his desire to get back in the cage and capture what he has been pointing toward since he started in MMA.

In a press conference earlier this week leading up to tonight’s fight, Corey “Overtime” Anderson gave thanks to those who have supported him on the journey. One person he mentioned quite a bit in the presser is recently retired MMA fighter Frankie Edgar. Corey stated, “with no Frankie Edgar there is no Overtime, without Frankie nobody knows who I am”. Frankie Edger was his coach on Ultimate Fighter. He believed in him before almost everyone else. Corey continues to show what so many in our community know about Corey “Overtime” Anderson he is humble, he shows respect to everyone and will give thanks to those who have helped him along the way.

Tonight Anderson steps into the cage looking to bring home the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix title. Since it takes place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago-Its like a home cage advantage for Anderson. Everyone expects a loud and positive home crowd for Overtime. Taking down a champ is never easy but I believe Corey “Overtime” Anderson is ready, willing, and able to capture the title.

If you can’t head over to Chicago to see the fight live at the Wintrust Arena no worries you can still catch it live on Showtime. It’s a 13-fight card with Anderson vs Nemkov the headliner and Main Event. The opening fights start at  5 pm.
