The former Velvet Robot Coffee Lab in Roscoe, IL

Sunday, September 6, was a somber day for many area coffee-lovers in Roscoe. It was the final day for Velvet Robot Coffee Lab at 10514 Main Street. Dozens of patrons filled the tiny shop for their last cup of specialty coffee and to say goodbye to the staff.

Velvet Robot Coffee Lab customers had a final cup of their favorite brew on Sunday, September 7. It was the last day of business for the coffee shop on Main and Bridge Street in Roscoe.

Owner Justin Carner bought and completely renovated the shop about 16 months ago. It has been a popular hangout since it opened. Roscoe residents are hoping another coffee shop will bring their business to Roscoe in the near future.
