Christmas church services
Many churches in farthest northern Illinois have special Christmas plans.
Here's some of the churches in the Stateline area who have planned special services and events for Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024 and Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25.
South Beloit
St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Blackhawk Blvd. South Beloit: Christmas Eve Mass in English at 7 a.m., 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. and in Spanish at 8 p.m. and the end of Las Posadas at 7:30 p.m. Christmas Day Mass is at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. in English and 12:30 p.m. in Spanish.
Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 5809 Prairie Hill Road, South Beloit: Christmas Eve at 4:30 p.m. and Christmas Day service at 10 a.m. with breakfast after.
Stateline Community Church, 1401 Blackhawk Blvd, South Beloit: Christmas Eve service from 6 - 7 p.m.
Rockton
Old Stone Church, 101 E Union St, Rockton: Christmas Eve service will be at 6 p.m.
St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 511 W Rockton Rd, Rockton: Two services will be held - a Candlelight Divine Service at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24 and Traditional Divine Service at 9 a.m. on Christmas Day.
Roscoe
Hope Church, 5656 Elevator Rd. Roscoe: They will hold two Christmas Eve services on December 24, at 2:30 pm or 4 pm. No registration required.
Roscoe United Methodist Church, 10816 Main St., Roscoe: All four Christmas Eve worship services will include communion and conclude with the lighting of congregational candles while singing Silent Night. The 5:00 p.m. service will be a child-oriented, fun-filled event including games and a congregational participation nativity scene. At 7:00 p.m. Roscoe Methodist's musical group Mahalo will lead traditional and upbeat Christmas hymns and songs throughout a traditional Christmas Eve service format. At 9:00 p.m. Roscoe Methodist's traditional service will feature the Chancel Choir leading hymns and performing choral arrangements of Ode To Joy and All Is Well/Silent Night. At 11:00 p.m. is a half-hour worship service led by Pastor Ryan Sutton at the grand piano.
Cross and Crown Lutheran Church, 7404 Elevator Rd., Roscoe: Worship in-person or via livestream on Christmas Eve. at 4 and 7 p.m. and a Christmas Day message on their Facebook page.
Heritage Baptist Church, 12848 Willowbrook Rd., Roscoe: A traditional candlelight service on Dec. 24, 2024, 5 p.m. will be followed by dessert.
