Building a Home for Our History Fundraiser
Sat Oct 2 4:30 pm, Roscoe Township Historical Society 8525 Croix Trail Roscoe IL, 61073
4:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Join us at the home of Justin & Tina Franklin for a casual meal and music in support of Roscoe Township Historical Society’s work to restore the historic Cross Homestead, creating space to build community around all of Roscoe’s history.
Relax and enjoy the sounds of acoustic duo Fred & Ginger over food and drink in Roscoe’s autumn countryside. The event will have outdoor Ravinia-style seating: bring a lawn chair and we'll provide everything else. Dinner, drinks, and dessert will be available throughout the evening to accommodate guests’ varying schedules.
Fred & Ginger will perform from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. For the remainder of the evening, guests will have the unique opportunity to enjoy quality vintage audio courtesy of a pair of 1969 Altec Magnificent speakers powered by a pair of mid-1950’s Sansui Q55 monoblock tube amps, for a true audiophile experience.
We'll have a silent auction which will close at 8:30 p.m., with winners announced shortly after.
Tickets are $50 and available at Eventbrite: www.eventbrite.com/e/building-a-home-for-our-history-tickets-169368045383
If you can't make it: you can still help today by donating online to the Preservation Fund. When you use this link, 100% of your contribution will go towards building a home for our history.
The Cross homestead will be a focal point of Roscoe Township's new 17-acre Founders Park development and will serve as the home for the historical society. It was built circa 1841 by Roscoe’s first non-native settlers, Robert and Hannah Cross. Your help in meeting our $30,000 fundraising goal will enable us to complete a community meeting space in the building annex, which is essential for all our other work.
