Broken to Unbothered features tips and pointers for mindfulness and peace within ourselves
Broken to Unbothered is an interactive book giving great enlightenment.
Erica Smith is a familiar face in the Rockton community. Smith is the long time owner of Rockton Sanctuary Spa, has volunteered in several capacities, and is a strong community supporter.
Now she has added another achievement , as the author of a new book, “Broken to Unbothered. A 30 Day Guide to Boundaries, Gratitude, and Becoming Unbothered, Volume one, Coming Home to Yourself.
The book offers valuable advice , affirmations and insights with interactive methods to be executed, all added into 28 pages.
Smith reflects, “The actual writing took a few months, but if I'm being honest, I've been writing this book for years through my own life experiences. Every hard season, every lesson learned, and every boundary I've had to set found its way onto these pages.”
Broken to Unbothered is my first published book and the first in what I hope will become a series of books focused on healing, personal growth, and coming home to yourself.
I didn't set out to write a mindfulness book. I wrote the book I needed years ago. After navigating grief, trauma, relationships, boundaries, and learning to choose peace over people-pleasing, I realized healing isn't about becoming someone new. “
Smith adds, “It's about returning to who you were before the world told you who you should be. This book is about finding sanctuary within yourself and realizing that peace isn't something you earn, it's something you're worthy of.
My greatest inspiration was my own healing journey and the incredible women I've met throughout my life and career.
As a salon owner, I've had a front-row seat to women's stories for many years. I also found inspiration in music, journaling, gratitude practices, and learning that being "unbothered" isn't about not caring, it's about caring deeply while protecting your peace.”
Smith is proudly self-published through Amazon KDP.
Smith shares, “This entire project was a labor of love that I brought to life myself.
I designed the book cover and creative elements myself. I wanted the imagery to reflect freedom, peace, and the journey of coming home to yourself.
“I think people sometimes hear the title Broken to Unbothered and assume it's about becoming someone who has it all figured out. It's not.
“I'm still growing, healing, and learning every day. This book isn't about perfection. It's about giving yourself permission to become who you were always meant to be. If I've learned anything, it's that boundaries are holy, gratitude changes everything, and life gets really beautiful when you stop trying to earn your worth and simply decide you're worthy.
My hope is that this book gives readers permission to take up space, protect their peace, and come home to themselves, one page at a time.”
Smith’s first book signing was on May 26, 2026.
“This book signing was especially meaningful because it was my very first. I hope it's just the beginning. My dream is to continue writing, speaking, and creating spaces where people feel encouraged to heal, grow, and celebrate who they're becoming,” Smith said.
Smith’s professional prowess comes as the owner of two salons. Rockton Sanctuary Spa, and Sanctuary South.
She is a wife of 32 years, a mom to two incredible adult children, and now, a published author.
Smith shares, “At my core, I'm someone who loves helping people feel beautiful, confident, and empowered, both inside and out. Whether I'm mentoring someone in my business, playing Pickleball with friends, planning my next trip to Ireland, or writing words that I hope help someone heal, I believe life is too short not to become the fullest version of yourself.
My greatest hope is that when someone closes the last page of this book, they don't simply feel inspired. I hope they feel a little more at home within themselves.”
