Big Man on Campus at Stone Creek School
Seven year old Jamison Monge was Principal for a Day at Stone Creek Elementary School in Roscoe.

For one day last week, Jamison Monge was the guy in charge at Stone Creek Elementary School in Roscoe. On Monday, April 14, 2025, Jamison shared duties with Stone Creek Principal Shane Caiola.
Jamison is seven years old and student in Mrs. Johnson’s second grade class at Stone Creek.
His name was drawn as one of the lucky winners in a Kinnikinnick School District Parent Teacher Organization drawing on April 1.
Jamison’s big day began with an exciting ride to school via a big red Rockton Fire Department truck.
His first duty of the day was to help Mr. Caiola with morning drop–offs. Next, they stopped by all the classrooms to say good morning.
Lunch time was a special treat: he and Principal Caiola had a McDonald’s lunch together. “When we stopped at the lunchroom, everyone clapped.” Jamison said. “Another fun thing was painting rocks.”
Jamison made announcements to the students throughout the day. At the end of the school day, he and Mr. Caiola helped students board the school busses.
Jamison said he had a good time being Principal of the Day. According to Mr. Cariola, Jamison did an outstanding job.
Oliver Esmond, first grade student at Ledgewood Elementary School, was Principal of the Day the previous week, assisting Principal Chad Etnyre. Kinnikinnick School Principal Amber Miller will welcome fifth grade student Noral Sturm as the final Principal of the Day on April 23.
The money raised through the drawings will be used for beautification projects at Ledgewood, Stone Creek, Kinnikinnick and Roscoe Middle School.
