Alice McGrew of Roscoe passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at age 93. She was born August 19, 1928, the daughter of Max and Mary Lukas of Neillsville, WI. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1946. Formerly known as Alice Lukas Yule, at age 58 she married Jim McGrew on Aug. 2, 1986. Afterwards, they retired to Bella Vista, AR, for nine years, but came back to the Midwest and settled in Roscoe, where they were part of Roscoe United Methodist Church. They attended her high school reunion in 2008.
Mrs. McGrew received a Bachelor of Science degree in upper elementary education in 1958, and a Master of Science degree in special education in 1967, from Wisconsin State University - Eau Claire (now UW - Eau Claire). Based on her experience as a special education teacher and work experience coordinator, in 1967 she published A developmental work-study curriculum (EMR), Memorial High School, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Before that, she taught seven years in Indiana schools. After receiving her masters degree, she taught in the Muskego-Norway Consolidated School District and elsewhere in Wisconsin.
Mrs. McGrew was predeceased by her parents and by her husband Jim.
