Join us at Alfalfa Bluegrass Festival, on August 26, a gathering of acoustic bluegrass music, friends, and fun in support of the Learning Center's on-farm education programming!
TICKETS
$25 adults ($40 at the gate)
$10 children 6-12 years (children under 5 do not need a ticket).
CAMPING
$20/tent, up to 4 people per tent. All campers need festival ticket. No camping passes at the gate.
Performances
Enjoy an afternoon and evening of live acoustic music under the Rainbow Pavilion stage overlooking the lush alfalfa fields and tranquil Kinnikinnick Creek flowing through the Learning Center grounds.
Gates Open, 2pm
Bring your camping chairs and blankets and find a seat on the lawn by the stage. Camping Pass holders load into the camping area.
Acoustic Open Stage, 3-5pm
Bring your instruments to take a 15 minute set on the Acoustic Open Stage. Open Stage sets are first come, first served.
Performance Line-up 5-7pm
Local bluegrass performers, including Dave Skupien from Roscoe, keep you dancing through the afternoon, and into the evening.
Miles Over Mountains
Local bluegrass group Miles Over Mountains headlines Alfalfa Fest. Hailing from McHenry, IL Miles Over Mountains plays a modernized style of progressive bluegrass covering a wide spectrum of genres, dynamics, and feeling.
Food and Beer
Grab-n-go vittles prepared by Roscoe's Chef Andy will be available for purchase from 5pm-10pm or while supplies last. Beer will be available to purchase for guests 21+ with ID/wristband. Drinking water will be available - bring your reusable bottle. Alfalfa Bluegrass Festival is cash-only.
Campfire Jam
When the music stops and the lights go down, bring your guitars, banjos, fiddles, harps, drums, and voices to the Campfire Jam! Gather around a community campfire in the camping area (camping pass required), toast some s'mores and sing along under the stars!
Buy tickets and reserve your campsite early. Camping passes are limited - reservations will close when capacity is reached. Camping pass holders ONLY may stay after 10pm. There will be no camping passes sold at the gate.
Alfalfa Fest is a low-impact, cash-only event! Please carpool, and bring a refillable water bottle (water will be available). Be prepared to pack out what you bring in!
This is an outdoor event held on grass, bare ground, and gravel, rain or shine (except in the event of extreme or dangerous weather).
Bring camp chairs and/or picnic blankets for seating.
No dogs allowed with the exception of service animals. Please contact programs@learngrowconnect.org as soon as possible if you need service animal or access accommodation.
No outside food in the festival area (camping provisions must be kept in the camping area).
Tickets are $40 at the gate. NO CAMPING PASSES will be sold at the gate.
