Aerial mural of Roscoe and Rock River to be completed and celebrated this week
The curious public can meet muralist Thomas Agran Thursday afternoon.
The people of Roscoe, the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB), the Village of Roscoe and artist Thomas Agran will celebrate the completion of Roscoe's first mural on Thursday, August 25, 2022, 4 – 6 p.m. on the north side of the Freemason Building, 10536 Main Street in Roscoe, IL 61073.
The 1,300 sq. ft. mural depicts an aerial view of Roscoe and the Rock River. Agran began his work early Thursday morning, Aug. 11, after scoping it out the night before. He continued painting through Aug. 14, took a week off, and then returned this week to finish it.

Admission to the pop-up party is free and open to all. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. The celebration is expected to center on the parking lot between Mary’s Shear Artistry and Harlem Roscoe Fire Department Station 1 next door.
Roscoe's first mural is the final mural of the 2022 CRE8IV season and the 34th mural created as part of the RACVB-led public art program. CRE8IV (pronounced “Creative”) has brought public murals and sculptures to Rockford, Rockton, Loves Park, Pecatonica and now Roscoe.
