Year 6 of supporting and honoring Jaimie Cox. Come join us in Roscoe, IL for an active day, Jaimie's way!
Our nature based 5K Run/Walk or 2 mile walk will begin at Roscoe Middle School (RMS). The route proceeds west to the historic Stone Bridge Trail before turning south as you continue to pound the crushed limestone path. You will reach the halfway point, turn around and return to RMS.
*Please note that our course features a variety of running surfaces, including gravel.
For his 2008 to 2009 service in Nangarhar province in Afghanistan, Jaimie Cox was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, as well as the Illinois National Guard Abraham Lincoln Medal of Freedom Ribbon. He also served in the Division of Law Enforcement of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
Officer Cox had only been with the Rockford Police Department for one year before he was killed in the line of duty November 5, 2017. The Jaimie Cox Foundation was established in 2019 with the mission of using "the power of community to better the lives of first responders, veterans, underprivileged children, and those pursing higher education."
